The History
In America in 1968, the Capital Services Group was organized to design, develop and supervise the computer affairs of Louisiana's Capital Bank and its affiliated service bureau. Back then, CMC technology specialists were called data processing analysts and programmers (as opposed to today's information systems and software engineers. And for nearly twenty years, they managed five data centers supporting 60 banks with over 400 branches. In the late 80's, Fiserv, Inc. bought the bank's technology and the group that supported it. Fiserv furthered the service bureau aspect of the business in the name of Baton Rouge International, Inc (BRI) and began the process of reengineering the Cap Services system to support the latest open systems architecture. CMC acquired BRI in 1991 and renamed as CMC Americas in 2003.
